Howlin' Woods Tent, 29 Aug
SCRATCHY SOUNDS kicked off his illustrious life as a selector in the bars and venues of London, 46 years ago. Playing shows with the likes of The Ramones, The Heartbreakers and The Cramps at Dingwalls, where he was resident, and larger halls from the Lyceum to the Rainbow, two tours with Dr. Feelgood were followed by a couple of years on the road as The Clash Tour DJ. Joining up again with Joe Strummer and his Mescaleros in 2001, he has since toured alongside The Pogues and Gogol Bordello, as well as setting festivals, concerts and clubs alight, from Colombia to Japan to London’s Gypsy Hotel, with his fiery concoctions of The Rock and The Roll of The World.
Still treading the boards and spinning the tunes, Scratchy comes to Howlin' Woods' final day midnight slot armed with a Fistful of his Roots Rockin’ Rhythms and Blues 45s, a selection of some of the finest groovers, twisters and shakers from across the planet.
